about the artist

watercolour artist, paint-maker & paper-maven

Founded in 2018 in the heart of London by artist Ella Jackson,
the studio has worked on a wide range of projects for several prestigious clients. Ella’s work has been featured in books, turned into silk scarves and fashion accessories, and has even been turned into home decorations including pillows and wallpaper.

Ella’s work is heavily inspired by the Romantic obsession with the natural world; her artwork is filled with blossoming botanicals and iridescent insects, all in brightly toned jewel colours. Ella draws inspiration from decorative arts, victorian illustration, modern pattern-making, fairytales and fashion. Her artwork is characterised by fine details, and she creates her work with pencil, ink and watercolour.

Ella was born in Trinidad and grew up in Hong Kong and Singapore. She read English at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and later worked for the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Ella now lives in London with her fiancé, Rick, and her two cats, Juno and Suki.
